Fulton and Genie Lytle, Proprietors of L&L Service of 51 South Main Street, are pleased to inform their past and future customers that their fuel pumps are flowing once again. After a brief hiatus to comply with federal regulations, the pumps have been operable since the end of March.

Residents of Stewartstown for 16 years, Fulton, who was bom and raised in Norrisville, and Genie, who was born and raised in Fawn Grove, purchased their business a little over ten years ago. In fact, as soon as their refurbishment project is complete, they plan to hold a 10 year anniversary "grand re-opening" celebration.

Fulton and Genie are known for bringing the traditional friendly family owned "hands-on" flavor to their business. For example, every Wednesday from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M., Fulton provides full gas station service to his customers. Whether it's pumping gas, checking the oil or checking tire inflation, Fulton is more than happy to oblige. For the convenience of their customers, the Lytles are pleased to provide dry cleaning and sharpening services. Dry cleaning generally takes 3-4 days. Knives, scissors, mower blades or anything else that can be sharpened is picked up by the Lytle's subcontractor on Monday and returned the following Monday.

Another significant part of their business is the fuel oil delivery program. Because they are a locally owned and operated business, L&L Service can generally respond to fuel oil requests within a 20-mile area in 60 minutes or less. Budget payment plans can be arranged and a 5-cent per gallon discount is offered for payment in less than 7 days. As a result of their caring and prompt response to delivery requests, the fuel oil portion of the business, which was started less than three years ago, has seen appreciable growth.

L&L is the place to go for Perrydell Milk and Carman's Ice Cream. The family owned Perrydell Dairy is located in the Leader Heights area. The Perrydell folks are proud to say that their milk is delivered to L&L "the day it comes from the cow." Like Perrydell Milk, the family owned Carman's Ice Cream of Loganville, is also a hot item at L&L. In fact, one of the favorite desserts of the Stewartstown natives is a freshly baked fruit pie from Barton's Farm Market topped with Carman's Ice Cream from L&L.

As time permits, Fulton enjoys his involvement with the Stewartstown Lions Club, playing golf, and bowling. One of Genie's favorite activities is Cherub Choir at Stewartstown United Methodist Church. They also enjoy visits from their son, Jason, a Penn State grad with a degree in Environmental Sciences, and their daughter Carrie, who is completing a degree in Animal Center Management.

Whether you need to gas up your car, order fuel oil for your home, or buy some of the freshest and best tasting milk and ice cream in town, L&L is a wonderful business to patronize. L&L is open from 6:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. Monday through Friday, 7:30 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Saturday, and 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. on Sunday. The store can be reached by calling 993-3261 and fuel oil deliveries can be arranged by calling 993-5553.
