THANK YOU AND FAREWELL! It is with very mixed emotions that I write this, the final opening article, of the Community Bulletin. On the one hand, we are thrilled about a wonderful new opportunity that has been offered to us. On the other hand, we are sad to say goodbye to our friends and neighbors. When Connie and I started this publication 3½ years ago, we did so in an attempt to foster a stronger sense of community in our area. Having moved to the area not long before the beginning of the publication, we were eager to share information about those we met and things we learned. Our mission was to inform and entertain in a positive way. From the outset, we said that we would not print anything negative or divisive. In that regard, we believe that we were true to our mission. We also never hid the fact that we believed that the Lord was working through us to lead others to a closer relationship with Him. We pray that, to some small extent, we have been successful in that regard. The Community Bulletin was never intended to be a large-scale commercial enterprise. As long as we were able to cover our bills, we were happy. Connie worked hard on the layout and ad design. I did a bit of writing and the final edit. Together, we delivered the publication. We were never more than a company of two. We were equally happy about the kind words of support and encouragement from our loyal readers, many of which told us that they have a collection of every edition of the paper. We are now equally sad to see this labor of love come to an end. To our loyal readers, a heartfelt "Thank you!" To our advertisers, many of which have been with us since the beginning, we thank you as well. Without your financial support, this publication would never have been possible. We wish you all continued success in your business endeavors. We can only hope that the citizens of this community embrace and support your businesses as eagerly as you supported this publication. To our many contributing writers, and you all know who you are, we thank you for broadening the scope of the publication and for sharing your experience and expertise in a way that made this publication more appealing. We would be horribly remiss if we did not acknowledge our good friend Chris Kennedy. Chris has been our one and only printer, always producing a high quality product with very little turnaround time. What started as a business relationship has become a wonderful friendship. Chris, thank you so much! The work that has been our primary source of support for the past few years now leads us away. I have been offered a wonderful new opportunity with a large religious foundation in Washington, DC. Connie and I look forward to continuing our service to the Lord. Thank you again and may God bless you all always! Tim Harrison, Editor
